Captured in the early dawn light, fog and colors of changing seasons, the Bette S is a beautifully restored Maine lobster boat.
BETTE S was built in 1968 by Ralph Stanley and Emerson (Tucker) Spurling in Southwest Harbor, ME. She was named after Bette Spurling, Tucker’s wife. She was an active lobster boat in SW Harbor continuously until the summer of 2010. Now fully restored as a cruising yacht, she has retained her original name, and is listed in the appendix of Ralph Stanley’s book - "Tales of a Maine Boatbuilder"

Congratulations Marty on being featured in the Fine Art America Group “The Art of Fishing”! An exquisitely detailed lobster boat scene! The ripples in the water, the early morning light, the fog…it is all beautifully crafted! Feel free to place this work in the 2024 featured discussion for viewing and discussion should you wish

Nice shot Marty, the graduation of colors and then the ripples, not to mention the boat!
