The Three Sisters are an eroded rock formation in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. The Three Sisters were formed by land erosion around 200 million years ago during the Triassic period when the sandstone of the Blue Mountains was eroded over time by wind, rain and rivers, causing the cliffs surrounding the Jamison Valley to be slowly broken up.
The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive rock fins, and giant balanced rocks. Arches National Park contains the world's largest concentration of natural stone arches. Winter is the park’s quietest season and a perfect time to see the fiery red rock with a soft dusting of white snow.
